NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Investigators say they have arrested a 13-year-old boy after he and two other teenagers attempted to make off with a moped in North Charleston.
The North Charleston Police Department charged the juvenile with motor vehicle theft.
On Friday morning, police responded to an address on Basey Court in reference to several subjects stealing a moped.
Police say three teens wearing school uniforms were seen taking a red moped. The victim said she saw the three suspects grab the moped and push it down the street. When the witness' husband yelled at the teens, the suspects dropped the moped and ran, police say.
According to police, one of the suspects then got on a Carta bus, while the other two ran off. Authorities say an officer found one of the juveniles on Northside Drive. The witness then identified the juvenile as one of the suspects.
According to investigators, a 15-year-old male juvenile and 17-year-old Dominic Deangelo Holmes-Stewart were both identified as the remaining suspects in the case.
