Colleton Co. attempted murder suspect surrenders to authorities

COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Authorities say a man wanted for attempted murder in Colleton County surrendered on Tuesday.

The Colleton County Sheriff's Office says Brian T. Jenkins surrendered to deputies a day after he was featured on the sheriff's office "Top Ten Most Wanted" list.

Jenkins was wanted for attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime and malicious injury to property.

"Jenkins said he thought it was in his best interest to turn himself in after being contacted by friends and family that his wanted photo was published by the news media and social media," Sheriff George A. Malone said.

Jenkins was locked up at the Colleton County Detention Center.
