Armed robbery suspect surrenders to deputies

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A Georgetown man accused of an attempted armed robbery at a Pleasant Hill store surrendered to authorities late Tuesday.

Georgetown County Sheriff's Office investigators said 21-year-old Darrel Damain Linen held up the W.T. Owens store located at 12971 Pleasant Hill Drive around 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Investigators said Linen demanded money, the cashier refused and Linen fled the store on foot. Deputies said Linen was carrying was appeared to be a handgun during the incident.

No one was injured.

Linen is charged with armed robbery while armed with a deadly weapon, injury to personal property, and a seat belt article violation.  He is being held in the Georgetown County Detention Center.
