CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police say they are gathering information about a suspect following a shooting on King Street early Thursday morning.
Charleston Police Department spokesman Charles Francis said a man was shot in the thigh at 949 King Street around 12:35 a.m.
According to a release, the victim was leaving a store when he was shot by a black male wearing all black clothing.
Francis said the victim then ran to 18 Moultrie Street before he was taken to Medical University of South Carolina by EMS.
Video from the scene shows officers searching under vehicles near 18 Moultrie Street.
The injury is non-life-threatening, Francis said.
