CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

The man police say attempted to rob a man on King Street early Thursday morning, and then shot him in the thigh faced a judge Saturday morning for a bond hearing.

Tyreece Smith, 22, was arrested by Charleston Police Friday and is charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and attempted armed robbery. Smith's bond was set at $250,000.

According to a report, Smith attempted to rob a man around 12:30 a.m. Thursday near 949 King Street. After Smith pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the victim, the victim tried to run away. That is when smith shot him twice in the back of his legs.
