Officials: Fire starts in laundry room of N. Charleston apartment

Posted: Updated:
NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

North Charleston firefighters were called out to an apartment complex Saturday after they say a fire started in a laundry room.

Crews were able to quickly put out a fire at the 7000 block of St. Ives Road around 3 p.m. this afternoon. Officials say the cause of the fire is still under investigation and that no one was hurt.

Firefighters say it is important that the public check lint traps while doing the laundry to cut down on potential fire hazards.
