Duo wanted for attempted robbery, shooting in N. Charleston

Posted: Updated:
NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Investigators are on the lookout for two suspects who attempted to rob a man and then shot him in North Charleston.

North Charleston police responded to Dorchester Road and Meeting Street in reference to shots fired Friday afternoon. The victim said around 2:28 p.m., two men attempted to rob him and then shot him in the leg.

The victim said he was doing business with customers, when the two suspects came up and asked him if he was ready to pack up for the day. Police say that one of the suspects then asked the victim to walk into his covered trailer to which the victim refused.

According to investigators, both suspects then attempted to pull the victim into the trailer. At that point, one of the suspects went into the victim's pockets to take cash but failed to do so.

The victim said when he broke free, one of the suspects pulled out a silver gun and pointed it at the victim. After the victim told him not to shoot him, the suspect shot the victim on his right thigh.

Both of the suspects then took off down Meeting Street towards the railroad tracks.

The victim told officers he was robbed by the same guy with the same gun six months before where the suspect took all his money.

The victim was transported to MUSC.  Police are continuing the investigation.
