HOLLYWOOD, SC (WCSC) -

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office says a St. Pauls Fire District truck was responding to a fire alarm at 7538 Highway 162 when the right-rear tires ran off the road, causing the truck to overturn.

Major Jim Brady said the engine was operating with lights and siren when it crossed into the ditch and overturned around 10:45 a.m.

The driver was alone in the truck, and suffered minor injuries.

Traffic was shut down in the 6500-block of the road as a heavy-duty wrecker arrived to remove the truck from the ditch.  The fire station is located in that same block.

Images from the scene show the truck sustained significant damage.
