Cops: Suspect broke into car, stole guitar

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police are searching for a suspect who they say broke into a car and stole $3,100 worth of items out of it over the weekend.

Police say Frederick Neal Ravenell, 49, broke into a gray Toyota Scion and stole musical equipment.

The victims car was parked overnight Sunday in a gravel lot at 685 King Street. When the victim went to pick up the car around 3 p.m. Monday, the front driver's window was shattered and a number of items were missing out of the car.

Among the stolen items were a Taylor guitar, a guitar case, and a music toolbox.

Police say the victim's guitar was later pawned by at George's Loan and Music on King Street.
