ST. MAARTEN (WCSC) - Officials in St. Maarten have confirmed the bodies of Mike and Thelma King, the couple slain on the island one week ago, are back in the United States.

The Mt. Pleasant couple was found fatally stabbed at their St. Maarten condominium Sept. 21.

Arrangements are being made with a funeral home in Chapin, near Columbia.. The couple owned multiple residences, but friends say most recently the Kings spent most of their time in Mt. Pleasant.

The prime suspect in the double-murder case, identified by the St. Maarten News Network as 28-year-old Meyshane Johnson, of Jamaica, was arrested last Sunday. He claimed innocence during a preliminary court hearing Wednesday.

Johnson worked as a security guard for a company on the island.

Investigators say they are now reviewing video surveillance before and after the couple's death, as well as looking into witness statement and phone records from the Kings and Johnson.
