Coroner identifies man ejected from SUV in Bonneau

The Berkeley County Coroner's Office has identified the man who died Friday morning after he was ejected from his SUV in Bonneau.

Deputy Coroner Darnell Hartwell identified the victim is 59-year-old Daniel Roberts, of Bonneau.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the wreck happened on Black Oak Road at 11:34 a.m., when Roberts was traveling east in a 1993 Isuzu Rodeo and drove off the left side of the roadway, then whipped back and forth before overturning and striking several trees.

Troopers said Roberts was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.  A passenger inside the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
