MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Town leaders will celebrate the four-year anniversary and expansion of a Senior Services Center in Mt. Pleasant Tuesday.

The Thomasena Stokes-Marshall Center is expanding because people aged 55 and older are projected to make up more than half of Mt. Pleasant's population in the next 15 years.

The new addition will include more exercise space, an extended living room area, and a covered outdoor area.

Construction is expected to be completed by the spring.

The ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. at the center on 840 Von Kolnitz Road.
