LAURENS COUNTY, SC (WYFF) - Deputies serving an arrest warrant on a 35-year-old man Friday said they found him holding a woman against her will whom he had sexually assaulted.

Laurens County deputies had gotten a warrant signed against Christopher Bernard Davis for harassment and threatening of a woman in an unrelated case.

In meantime, deputies learned that a woman from Charleston called 911 saying her friend, who had gone to Laurens County to meet a man she met on Facebook, called her saying she was being beaten and needed help.

When deputies got to Davis' home on Friday on Highway 560 in Mountville to serve the warrant, they planned to look for the woman because of her friend's call for help. Deputies said Davis tried to block then from getting into the home.

Deputies arrested Davis, and said they found the woman inside the home.

Investigators said the woman had fresh injuries from having been beaten.

Deputies said Davis and the woman met on Facebook in April.

She came to Laurens County to meet him about a week and a half ago and had been held against her will ever since, deputies said.

Deputies took the woman to the hospital. She was later placed in Safe Homes.

The woman's family was expected to take her home to Charleston on Tuesday.

Davis is charged with unlawful use of a telephone, criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping, first-degree-assault and battery and resisting arrest.

Davis was being held at the Johnson Detention Center.

Sheriff's Office investigators are asking anyone who had contact with Davis or who has additional information to call the Laurens County Sheriff's office at 864-984-4967 or 68CRIME.
