Summerville schools briefly locked down during police investigation

Two Summerville schools were briefly placed on lockdown Wednesday as Summerville police investigated a possible home invasion.

Dorchester District 2 spokesperson Pat Raynor said both Summerville High School and Gregg Middle School were locked down at the behest of the Summerville Police Department.

According to the Summerville Police Department, their investigation revealed that there was no home invasion.

The lockdown was canceled about 30 minutes after its inception, according to Raynor.
