Police searching for downtown man wanted for stealing car

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police are looking for a 41-year-old man accused of stealing a car in downtown.

The Charleston Police Department is looking for Joseph T. Nelson who is wanted for property crime enhancement.

On Saturday, officers responded to a home on Judith Street in reference to a stolen car.

The victim said someone had stolen her 2007 Saab from the rear of her home. According to the victim, a spare key may have been inside the vehicle.

About two hours later, officers located the car in a parking lot on South Street.
