Cops: Bicycle thief nabbed after using stolen credit card

JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Investigators say a 28-year-old James Island woman who stole a bicycle from a home's garage was arrested after she used a stolen credit card at a convenience store.

The Charleston Police Department charged Melissa Ann Knors with property crime enhancement and financial transaction card theft.

On Tuesday, officers executed a search warrant at Knor's apartment on Theresa Drive in reference to a credit card and $200 that was taken from a wallet in a car on Jamestown Road on Sept. 12.

Police say they had evidence that Knor had used the stolen credit card at a convenience store. During the search of Knor's home, officers say they found a bicycle that was taken from a Fairway Drive garage on Sept. 10.

Knors was locked up at the Al Cannon Detention Center.

Police are continuing the investigation.
