NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The City of North Charleston placed a bid to own a once bustling medical center that served thousands of service members and retirees.
Bidding on the old Charleston Naval hospital will wrap up on Tuesday.
The bidding, which opened last month, started at a hundred thousand dollars.
According to the GSA Auctions website, there are five bidders willing to spend more than $1.8 billion on the site.
North Charleston City Councilman Bob King said the city did bid on the property, but do not have any plans for it as of now.
