Restaurant owner accused of employing illegal aliens, not paying taxes

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Released court documents state that an owner of a North Charleston Chinese restaurant was charged with transporting illegal immigrants and failing to pay taxes.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Ji Duan Fang, who owns the restaurant Jade China Buffet located on 7800 Rivers Ave., was charged with willful failure to collect and pay withholding taxes and transporting illegal aliens.

Court documents state that Fang failed to pay federal payroll taxes for the fourth quarter of 2010.

The U.S. Attorney's Office states that Fang also transported and hired illegal aliens "for the purpose of commercial advantage and private financial gain."
