SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Summerville authorities are offering amnesty to all offenders with outstanding bench warrants for the next month and a half.
The Summerville Police Department and the Summerville Municipal Court announced Tuesday anyone with bench warrants can go to court and pay their outstanding fees without fear of being arrested.
Bench warrants are generated if a person fails to make their court date or fails to complete time payments. The program is only associated with bench warrants, not arrest warrants.
The amnesty period lasts through December 1. Cash or money order payments can be made at the court located at 200 South Main Street between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
