BEAUFORT COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Investigators say a Florida man will be charged in an armed robbery where $100,000 worth of jewelry and cash were taken from a Beaufort County jewelry store.

Officials with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office say they have positively identified 46-year old Harold Dean Rogers of Pompano Beach, Fla. as the suspect who stole $100,000 worth of jewelry and cash during the armed robbery of the Ultra Diamonds store on Sept. 19.

According to the sheriff's office, Rogers was identified after he was arrested in Deerfield Beach, Fla. by the Broward County Sheriff's Office on unrelated charges on Sept. 28.

An incident report states that at the time of his arrest, Rogers was using the name "Nicholas Lunsford."

Rogers has an extensive criminal history and is also currently wanted by authorities in Maryland and North Carolina in relation to parole violations and additional armed robberies.

Rogers is expected to face charges in Beaufort County for armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime and grand larceny.

The sheriff's office says the case remains active as investigators are coordinating with outside agencies to identify and recover stolen jewelry that may have been pawned in Florida pawn shops.
