Council decision on I-526 could come by end of 2012

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County council could make a decision on the future on completing I-526 by the end of the year.

It's scheduled to be on their committee agenda Dec. 13.

The issue was not on Wednesday night's agenda, but people against the project voiced their concerns during a public comment session.

Last month, the State Department of Transportation voted not to take on the project which would extend the highway over Johns and James islands.

Council chair Teddy Pryor says there could be a vote on I-526 in December.
