WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - Three women were arrested in Walterboro Tuesday after officers say they left a department store with a shopping cart full of stolen merchandise.

Walterboro Public Safety officers arrested 23-year-old Connie White, 32-year-old Cielita Brown and 29-year-old Brittany Brown and charged them with shoplifting 1st offense $2,000 or less, a report states.

According to the report, three females were seen leaving Walmart on Bells Hwy. Wednesday, October 16 around 3:40 p.m. with a shopping cart full of stolen merchandise totaling $205.74.

The suspects then left the department store in a black Chevy Impala.

Officers say they made contact with the suspects at a Murphy Gas Station. White tried to walk away from the car saying she did not know the other females, but the suspects in the car told police that White was with them, according to an incident report.

White was also wanted in Orangeburg for shoplifting, police say. In addition to shoplifting, White was also charged with hindering police.
