JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) -

Authorities say a woman gave birth in the bathroom of the James Island Bi-Lo on Thursday.

James Island Fire Chief Chris Seabolt said crews responded to the store located at 860 Folly Road a little after the lunch hour.

Seabolt was not able to provide many details, but confirmed the mother and baby were taken to the hospital and are expected to be fine.

A store employee said the woman worked at the supermarket and did not know she was pregnant.
