Charleston International Airport preparing for $150M renovation

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston International Airport is preparing for takeoff with a $150 million renovation.

On Thursday, the Charleston County Aviation Authority broke ground on the improvement plans.

The work includes six to eight gates at each of the two terminals as well as a makeover for the atrium, which will have a large glass dome.

The renovations are set to be finished sometime between late 2014 and early 2015.
