SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) -

The 22-year-old man accused of hitting four children with his car in Sangaree in August waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Friday.

Philip Andrew Wucherer is charged with three counts of leaving the scene of a collision involving great bodily injury and one count of leaving the scene of a collision involving personal injury.

Officials with Berkeley County Magistrate Court said Wucherer waived his right to a hearing Friday.

The incident happened on Aug. 25, around 11:30 p.m. on Paddock Way, when four children between the ages of 10 and 14 sneaked out of their home to access a wireless network near a curb across the street.

Authorities say Wucherer, driving a silver Ford Taurus, ran into the children.  All the children have since been released from the hospital.

Wucherer's bond was set at $600,000 on Aug. 29.

It's not Wucherer's first brush with the law.  According to court records, Wucherer was arrested and charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor in July 2011.  That case is still pending.
