WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) -

Police have arrested a second suspect in connection with an armed robbery at the Ross department store in West Ashley.

Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis said officers arrested 47-year-old Lawrence Sylvester Chisolm on Saturday afternoon. He and 48-year-old Rodney Frazier are accused of robbing the store located at 946 Orleans Road around 9:15 p.m. on Oct. 11.

According to Francis, the robbery occurred when a man followed the victim into the office and then into the secured office. Once inside the secured office, he forced the manager to open the safe. He then left the store with money from the safe and fled the area in a vehicle.

It's unclear whether Chisolm or Frazier actually went inside the store, but Francis said investigators have ruled both men were involved in the incident.

Frazier was arrested on Oct. 13. Both men are charged with armed robbery.
