FOLLY BEACH, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County Coroner's Office has identified the man found dead on Folly Beach on Sunday morning.
The coroner identified the victim as 33-year-old William Altman, of Moncks Corner.
The coroner's office was not able to provide a cause of death, but said they do not suspect foul play was involved, despite the fact Folly Beach Public Safety identified the death as 'suspicious' in a report released on Monday.
According to the report, a man and a woman were taking a morning walk around 7:30 a.m. near the East 6th Street beach access when they saw a man laying in an "uncomfortable position" next to a log behind 605 East Arctic Avenue.
When the couple tried to awaken the man, they realized he was unresponsive, so they called authorities.
Officers responded to the scene to find the man's pale, blue body. Officers said there was a puddle of dried red fluid that had come from his nose and his mouth.
