CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston Police have arrested two teens who officers say broke into a number of cars in a West Ashley neighborhood earlier in the week.

William Justus Porter, 18, and James Tyler Thomas, 17, have been arrested and charged with multiple counts of breaking into a motor vehicle.

According to a report, six cars on Hunters Forest Drive in Shadowmass Plantation were broken into between Sunday and Monday. Police say they were called to the street around 2:20 a.m. Monday, but the two suspects left the scene before officers arrived.

Police say they were found one of the suspects near Hunters Forest Drive and Bees Ferry Road. An investigation led police to the second suspect.

Both teens are being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center.
