MONCKS CORNER, SC (WCSC) - A Moncks Corner man has been arrested after deputies say he downloaded files containing child pornography.
David Scott Pearson, 46, was arrested and charged with two counts of second degree sexual exploitation of a minor, and three counts of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
According to a report, sheriff's deputies executed a search warrant of Pearson's home on October 22 following an investigation into the father of two. Deputies seized three laptops, several hard drives, several memory cards, and CD's and DVD's.
Officials say Pearson admitted that he had "downloaded some questionable material."
Pearson's two young children were placed in the custody of his mother, deputies say.
While reviewing Pearson's items, deputies say they found numerous files containing child pornography.
Reports state that Pearson was given a surety bond of $50,000. He has been ordered to have no contact with children under the age of 16, in addition to being restricted from using electronic communication devices or the internet.
The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office and a member of the Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force made the arrest.
