Atlanta, GA (WCSC) - A murder suspect who was out on bond and used heat to slip out of his electronic ankle monitor last week was arrested Thursday night near Atlanta, Ga.
According to the U.S. Marshals Service, 29-year-old Travaris Walker was arrested in Riverdale just outside of Atlanta without incident. Authorities say Walker tried to give them a phony name.
Investigators say he was supposed to be under house arrest at a family member's home on Forbes Avenue west of the Ashley. Walker is awaiting trial for the shooting death of a man in Lincolnville in December, 2011.
Last week, the Robinson Bail Bonding company got an alert that someone had tampered with Walker's monitor. Ninth Circuit Solicitor Scarlett Wilson said Walker stretched out of the bracelet which was monitoring his location.
Last week, a judge revoked Walker's bond, so he will remain in jail until his trial.
