AUGUSTA, GA (WCSC) - The oldest living graduate of The Citadel died this week.

Dr. Walter "Curly" Watson passed away early Wednesday after complications from a fall at his Augusta home over the weekend.

At 102 years old, Watson was considered Augusta's oldest living doctor. Before retiring last spring, he was the oldest practicing physician in the world.

Affectionately known as "Poppa Doc," Watson practiced medicine for more than 60 years and delivered over 15,000 babies.

Watson graduated from The Citadel in 1931.
