Coroner identifies Lodge man killed after car hit trees

COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Colleton County Coroner's Office has identified the man killed after he struck three trees with his automobile Sunday night.

Coroner Richard Harvey identified the victim as 25-year-old Vander Williams, of Lodge.  Harvey said Williams died from multiple trauma.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the driver in a 2009 Pontiac was driving south on Carters Ford Road, near Lodge, when they ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected, and ran off the left side of the road.

The Pontiac hit three trees before coming to a rest around 8 p.m., troopers say.
