Police investigating reported home invasion in N. Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police are investigating a reported home invasion which happened early Tuesday.

Police department spokesman Spencer Pryor said officers responded to 1915 Carlton Street where they met with a victim who told them he was shot and robbed.

According to the victim, a man knocked on his door and told him someone was trying to rob him. The victim said he opened his door and the man pushed his way inside the apartment, pulled out a gun, and shot the victim in the groin before taking $50 from his pockets and fleeing the scene.

The victim was taken to Medical University of South Carolina for treatment, Pryor said.

The man described his assailant as a tall, skinny black male dressed in all black with light facial hair.
