CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The best city to travel to in the world has been rated the second best downtown in the United States to live in.
Charleston has taken the #2 spot in Livability's "Top 10 Downtowns 2012" list. This honor comes less than two weeks after Condé Nast Traveler named Charleston, S.C. the top city in the world.
Livability, an online resource that compiles data from more than 500 cities in America, praises downtown Charleston's "natural beauty, historic preservation, cultural attractions and economic development."
In addition to downtown's beauty, it also scored an 84 on Walkscore.com's walkability score, meaning that entertainment and dining options are only a short walk away.
Speaking of dining, Livability says Charleston's "internationally renowned dining scene" is also a major highlight that makes this downtown so great.
