CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police have arrested a man who they say punched the mother of his children in the face and then left the scene.

Lionel Blair, 27, was arrested Monday, October 29 and charged with criminal domestic violence of a high aggravated nature.

According to an incident report, Blair got into an argument with the mother of his children around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 17 at the mother's apartment on E. Estates Blvd. The victim says the argument was about their children.

After the victim walked out of the apartment, she claims Blair stepped out on the apartment's balcony and threw a plastic cup containing beer at her.

Police say when the victim told Blair she was going to call police, Blair came outside and punched her in the mouth. He then left in an unknown vehicle.

The report states the victim refused transportation from an EMS, but was advised to go to the hospital because her bottom lip was swollen and bloody and her lower teeth were loose.

The victim drove herself to St. Francis Hospital for evaluation.
