Suspects sought in two Mt. Pleasant armed robberies

MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Mount Pleasant Police Department is investigating two armed robberies that took place an hour apart and involved suspects wearing similar clothing.

According to a police report, a woman was robbed at gunpoint at Walmart located at 1481 Hwy 17 around 11 p.m. on October 19.

Surveillance video shows two black males walking around the parking lot of the store, appearing to wait until there are no people around. The suspects then approach the victim's car and point what the victim describes as a rifle at her face, and demand money.

The suspects then ran away towards CiCi's Pizza.

The victim said both suspects were wearing masks, and one had a red bandana on.

Police responded to another armed robbery less than seven miles away around 12:20 a.m. at Kangaroo Express located at 1401 Joe Rouse Rd.

According to a report, the suspect entered the store with a shotgun and demanded money from the cashier. After taking money from the register, the suspect left the store.

The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a dark-colored shirt, and used a red bandana to cover his face.
