Girl hit by car in Beaufort County dies from injuries

BEAUFORT COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says a girl who was hit by a car in Beaufort County on Wednesday night has died from her injuries.

According to authorities, the 13-year-old girl had just left a vehicle and was attempting to cross Alljoy Road when she was hit by the car.

The girl was taken to Hilton Head hospital and died from her injuries on Thursday.

Investigators listed the girl as contributing to the collision with highway patrol continuing the investigation.

The identity of the girl has not been released.
