BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - State law enforcement agents have arrested a South Carolina probation and parole agent accused of bribing an offender.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division said 49-year-old Vincent Howard, who works at the Berkeley County Office, offered an offender early release from probation and parole supervision in exchange for cash.
Howard's arrest comes after an undercover sting with SLED and the offender who was being offered the alleged deal.
Howard, who has been employed with the agency for 15 years, has been suspended without pay.
He was charged with public officials, bribes, influence action of public employee of an SCPPP Agent.
