OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. (WYFF) — Deputies said two women were found dead in a home on Smith Farm Road in Westminster late Friday afternoon.

Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis identified the victims as Clarine Smith, 82, and Smith's niece, Sandra Smith Myers, 63, of Seneca. Smith lived at the home on Smith Farm Road

Addis said both women had injuries consistent with blunt force trauma and cutting and/or stabbing. Autopsies are scheduled for Sunday morning.

Investigators said an 86-year-old man who lived with Smith was also found at the home. Deputies said he, too, had cutting and stab wounds which appeared to be self-inflicted.

Oconee County Sheriff's Office spokesman Capt. Travis Tilson said that man is being treated as a suspect. He was flown to Greenville Memorial Hospital, said Tilson. As of Friday night the suspect was in stable condition, according to authorities. Investigators said the victims, a woman and her niece, knew the suspect.

"We do feel like they were familiar and we feel like tonight we will get a better understanding of how they knew each other," Tilson said.

The identities of those involved have not been released. Investigators say a relative alerted them to what happened.

"Another family member called 911 once he arrived here and found the situation and what appeared to be in progress at the time," Tilson said.

Investigators say no charges have been filed. They have not released a motive yet, though they say this could be a domestic dispute.
