Suspect sought for Murrells Inlet attempted armed robbery

MURRELLS INLET, SC (WCSC) - The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help identifying a suspect wanted in connection with an attempted armed robbery outside the Carrabba's Italian Grill in Murrells Inlet.

According to the sheriff's office, an employee was leaving the restaurant on Courtfield Drive around 9:30 p.m. Monday when a suspect approached holding what appeared to be a handgun.

The employee said the suspect demanded money, but was unsuccessful and ran off.

The suspect is described as a white male standing 6'. Deputies said the suspect was wearing a green sweatshirt and blue jeans at the time of the attempted robbery.

Anyone that can identify the suspect or has any information about the robbery is asked to call the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office at (843) 546-5102 or send a tip using Text-A-Tip.
