ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

Deputies arrested two men and a 15-year-old after finding cocaine, crack, and a stolen gun following a chase in Vance, authorities say.

Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said investigators were patrolling Vance Road when they saw a speeding vehicle. Deputies attempted a traffic stop, but the driver of the Buick Regal continued a ways, before eventually stopping on Dukenfield Drive.

Ravenell said the driver, 28-year-old Devon Shaquain Jamison, was found to be holding more than $4,000 in cash. A .45 caliber Ruger was found under a front seat during a subsequent search of the Buick.

Ravenell said that gun had been reported stolen by the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators also said they found drugs on the 15-year-old, but determined Jamison had instructed the teen to hold the drugs while he was leading officers on a chase. Jamison told investigators he was on probation and could not be around firearms or drugs, Ravenell said.

The teen is currently detained by the Department of Juvenile Justice on drug charges.

Jamison was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, trafficking in cocaine, and trafficking in crack.

Another passenger in the car, 21-year-old Rakeem Laquan Mitchum, was charged with sale or delivery of pistol to persons unlawful, unlawful carrying of a pistol, and trafficking cocaine.

Ravenell concluded, "Our investigators do not have ‘office hours.' These men and women are proactive and responsive and are out during the times we are getting calls about illegal activity across the county. Every arrest, every seizure, every gun taken off the streets, has an impact on the crimes being committed in Orangeburg County."
