HORRY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

Detectives have arrested a 38-year-old Mt. Pleasant man accused of a dozen burglaries in Horry County.

Horry County police charged Allen Loring Atkins Jr. with 12 counts of second-degree burglary.

Between Oct. 23 and Nov. 2, twelve burglaries were reported to the Horry County Police Department from within the Jensen's Subdivision in the Garden City section of Horry County.

Authorities say the targeted homes were unoccupied homes within the community.  Household items such as televisions and other appliances were stolen during the incidents.

Detectives initiated an investigation which led to the possible identity of a suspect.

A police report states that Atkins was located by officers in the south precinct where some stolen property from the incidents were in his possession.

Detectives have since been able to link Atkins to all 12 of the incidents.

He is currently in custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
