Suspect sought in North Charleston armed robbery

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The North Charleston Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that happened at a parking lot on Rivers Avenue Monday afternoon.

At 3 p.m., officers responded to the area of 7400 Rivers Avenue in reference to an armed robbery.

The victim said that as she was walking to her vehicle to take the daily money drop to the bank, she saw the suspect walk pass her.

Police say when the victim sat down in the driver's seat of her car, the suspect opened the passenger side door and pushed the victim towards the steering wheel and driver's side door.

The victim told officers that she believed the suspect was holding a gun. The victim said the suspect then grabbed the bag and took off running towards Rivers Avenue.

According to investigators, the victim was unable to give a description of the suspect except that he was a black male.

Police are continuing the investigation.
