NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -
North Charleston fire officials said a firefighter was bitten while working a house fire late Monday.
Fire department spokesperson Bianca Sancic said crews responded to the 3300 block of Florida Avenue just before midnight to find smoke showing from a single-story home.
Sancic said a firefighter was inside the home when the family dog bit him, causing a minor injury. The dog was not harmed and was returned to its owner.
The firefighter was treated for the injury and released at the scene.
Sancic also said the fire was quickly extinguished and was limited to one room.
