
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - The staff at the Medical University of South Carolina is helping mark World Diabetes Day.
As part of the Wednesday observance, the north tower of the Charleston hospital is being illuminated in blue light at sunset.
The hospital is working with the South Carolina chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to bring attention to the prevalence of diabetes among both children and adults.
MUSC has 1 of the largest pediatric endocrinology clinics in South Carolina. The clinic has about 6,500 outpatient visits a year.
