Detectives continue search for Folly Beach man accused in marijuana operation

Detectives with the Charleston Police Department are continuing to search for a Folly Beach man wanted for growing more than 100 marijuana plants at a business in West Ashley.

Investigators are looking for 42-year-old Christopher Paul Durand wanted for trafficking marijuana.

On Wednesday night, a police officer was conducting a business courtesy check when on Ashley River Road when he detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from one of the businesses.

A police report states that the officer determined the source of the odor coming from the Self Lighting Company on 2313 Ashley River Road.

Investigators say they then executed a search warrant and discovered a marijuana grow operation inside the business. 

According to police, officers confiscated 112 marijuana plants and around 234 grams of loose marijuana.

Anyone with information on Durand is asked to call police at 577-7434 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
