Detectives continue search for Folly Beach man accused in marijuana operation

FOLLY BEACH, SC (WCSC) - Detectives with the Charleston Police Department are continuing to search for a Folly Beach man wanted for growing more than 100 marijuana plants at a business in West Ashley.

Investigators are looking for 42-year-old Christopher Paul Durand wanted for trafficking marijuana.

On Wednesday night, a police officer was conducting a business courtesy check when on Ashley River Road when he detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from one of the businesses.

A police report states that the officer determined the source of the odor coming from the Self Lighting Company on 2313 Ashley River Road.

Investigators say they then executed a search warrant and discovered a marijuana grow operation inside the business.

According to police, officers confiscated 112 marijuana plants and around 234 grams of loose marijuana.
