WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) -

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man they say robbed a West Ashley gas station early Saturday morning.

According to deputies, the suspect entered the B.P. Gas Station at the 1900 block of Sam Rittenburg at around 8:15 a.m.

Authorities say the man approached the counter as if he was making a purchase. Deputies say that's when he walked behind the counter as the clerk opened the register and grabbed money out of it.

Deputies say the suspect ran out of the store and fled the scene on a moped with the letters C-B-S on it.

The sheriff's office describes the suspect as tall and skinny and looks to be between 25 to 30 years old. The suspect is seen with a large afro wearing a red sweater and black pants.

Investigators say no weapon was displayed during the incident.
