Sheriff: Sangaree woman caught with meth lab

SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Agents with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office's Drug Enforcement Unit arrested a 43-year-old woman Wednesday after finding meth lab in her Sangaree home.

Sheriff's office spokesman Dan Moon said agents searched 1827 Eastside Street in the early afternoon after they received reports of a chemical smell in the area.

After securing a search warrant, deputies found several clear plastic bags containing a white powdery substance.

The resident, 43-year-old Sharon Lynn Haynes, was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Haynes is being held at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
