HENDERSON COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -
An East Texas man says that he has canceled his plans to file a lawsuit after receiving numerous threats.
Patrick Green tells KLTV in an email "Because of a death threat from some 'peace loving' Christians, the lawsuit has been canceled and no further legal action will be taken."
Green had planned on filing a lawsuit against Henderson County for not displaying a sign telling the community their nativity star was a gift from two Atheists. But he says recently someone burned the word "Evil" into a rug in his apartment complex, and police told him it was important enough to inform the apartment manager. Green then said in the e-mail, "If I filed, our building would have been burned to the ground."
Green said this was the second time someone has burned the word "Evil" into the carpet.
